Shafi's new film Makeup Man picks a much familiar theme and attempts to add some sparkle to it by unleashing Suraj Venjarammoodu and letting him run amuck all over it. Barring the odd couple of moments that induce chuckles, there is not much to go ga-ga over Makeup Man.
The film has an odd couple, Balu (Jayaram) and Soorya (Sheela), who get married and then realize that they have nowhere to go to start a life. As luck would have it, Soorya becomes an actress, and gets christened as Anamika, while Balu pretends to be her makeup man. Fame and money decide to play poker with the two, and not much later, they part ways.
